ORSOLYA KARMAN

My practice explores contemporary jewellery as a spatial extension of graphic thinking. Rooted in visual communication, I investigate how two-dimensional graphic systems can be transformed into three-dimensional, wearable structures that engage perception through space, movement, and light.

I approach jewelry not as ornament, but as a visual language in which form, material, and structure operate as a unified system. My work is informed by principles of reduction, rhythm, repetition, and precision, allowing complex visual experiences to emerge from simple geometric relationships.

Material and process are integral to this exploration. I combine digital design and hand assembly with industrial materials to create works that balance precision with experimentation. Rather than treating technology as an end in itself, I use it as a tool to expand the expressive possibilities of graphic language beyond the two-dimensional surface. Each project investigates a different aspect of perception while maintaining a consistent visual vocabulary.

Developed in limited series, my work positions contemporary jewelry as a concept-driven medium situated between art, design, and visual perception.
